After a disagreement with some of the Renegades, Hakon is attacked and Lawan goes to his defense as Aiden fights the other attackers. As they progress through the facility, Aiden may encounter Hakon, who has been working with Waltz and the Renegades. Depending on choices made throughout the story of Dying Light 2, a different character may confront Aiden during this moment. Aiden is forced to kill Jack Matt and a group of peacekeepers before traveling by foot to X13. Unfortunately, as Zoey and Ben head home on a plane, they discover that the plane is just another escape room and sleeping gas fills the cabin as the movie ends.Feeling betrayed by Aiden's choice to side with Williams, the peacekeepers ambush Aiden and the Renegades on their way to the facility. The trio break out of Minos and report all they know to the police. She soon turns against Minos though and teams up with Zoey to free Ben from his latest trap. However, she survived that fall and became a new puzzle-maker for Minos after they abducted her daughter Sonya and forced Amanda to work for them. It looks for a bit like Ben is even killed in one room, but it's later revealed he was drowned in quicksand and just ended up in another puzzle.Īfter a room filled with acid rain kills the final two newbies, Zoey meets Amanda (Deborah Ann Woll) who we assumed had died in the first movie. This time around, they're joined by previous survivors of Minos escape rooms, but these characters are essentially just disposable victims. The sequel brings back the survivors from the first movie, Zoey (Taylor Russell) and Ben (Logan Miller), as they are thrown back into another series of deadly escape rooms by the villainous Minos Corporation. Spoilers are ahead for both versions of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, so be warned if you haven't seen the movie yet. You might still be thinking that it can't really be that different, can it? Well, let's delve into both versions to show just how different the 'new' version of the movie is. It's so different that if a third Escape Room movie happens (and nothing has been confirmed yet), the filmmakers will have to decide which version to follow on from. What's more, the extended edition of Escape Room: Tournament of Champions even removed a major return from the theatrical version. ![]() But unlike most extended editions, or even director's cuts, there was actually plenty that was different about it – including the ending. The main version that was released to watch at home ended up being an extended version of the movie. Escape Room: Tournament of Champions might not have been as much of a hit as the first movie, but the horror sequel gave viewers plenty to talk about when it came out on streaming platforms. ![]()
